Welcoming Jack Gevertz – Our New Senior Account Executive

A little about Jack…

Jack Gevertz is High Rise Communications‘ new Senior Account Executive. He began as news editor at his student newspaper, York Vision, while studying politics at University of York. He went on to become editor at the beginning of his second year.

After finishing his undergraduate studies, Jack progressed to Sheffield University, studying a master’s degree in broadcast journalism. While he was a student both at York and Sheffield, Jack won a number of awards: Student Journalist of the Year from the National Union of Students, Young Reporter of the Year from the O2 Yorkshire Media Awards and TV News Feature of the Year from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council Awards.

As well as reporting experience at a student level, Jack has written in local, regional, trade and national media. He has had pieces published in The Guardian, The Independent and The Telegraph, covering news, opinion and blog writing. In 2017, he joined ITV Meridian as a trainee, before moving to the Immigration Advice Service as a content writer. Since then, he has advocated for Health Union on their psoriasis pages, writing blogs and interacting with fellow sufferers on their social media sites. 

Briefly, while freelancing, Jack spent some time in the trade media, writing news and feature pieces.

Jack is very excited to be joining the High Rise Communications team in the Senior Account Executive role, where he’ll be working with several of the company’s clients to build coverage and spread a positive message.
